Hi beauties! I’m trying to post more frequently on my page, because I miss it! In this post I want to take some time and talk about the classic Creme de la Mer. This is super luxurious and expensive, so of course, I bought it and I’m here to give you the tea on it. Keep on reading to find out my thoughts!
A little about this– it’s made of this “miracle broth” as they call it, which has this unique sea kelp which is self regenerating, it also has vitamins and other stuff (honestly I think you should click here for the actual details). It is said that this is supposed to reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles and improve the firmness of the skin.
Now, of course, I bought the 1 oz jar which retails for USD $170– the price only goes up from here. Honestly, though, the 1 oz is more than enough because a little goes a very long way. It comes in a nice glass (?) jar, with a little spatula for hygienic purposes. It is quite heavy too. The cream itself is very thick and has a nice fragrance (at least I thought it was nice). You’re supposed to warm it up in your fingertips and then apply it to your face. Warming it up first activates the ingredients.
I use this every winter, on the coldest days. What I notice is that my face is hydrated and looks more plump. My skin has a nice dewy glow to it and it feels very soft. My pores do look smaller when I use it, however I cant speak on the fine lines and wrinkles (yet!). When I use it under my makeup, I find that it gives me such a healthy glow, which I absolutely love.
Overall it is a wonderful product but because of the price point I would recommend other brands such as belif (though their moisturizers are not as thick and rich), Nivea (which is a drugstore brand) or fresh. Keep in mind that most of the brands mentioned do not necessarily carry dupes for La Mer– although I’ve read that Nivea comes pretty close– but they have great alternatives that moisturize the skin. If you have the cash, I say, definitely go for it, because it is quite lovely. If you don’t have it or wouldn’t spend that kind of money on a cream– which is totally understandable– just know that there are other options out there for much less. I’m not sure if I would repurchase this right away after I run out but only because I’m inclined to try their other products, like their foundation or their powder before repurchasing (one fancy-ass product at time for me!).
I hope this was helpful in some way! Until next post dolls! ♠♠
