Hi beauties! I am here to talk about a few products that did not work for me. Please do not be offended if one of these products happens to be one that you love. Frankly, I think it’s great that it worked for you! I mean who wants to spend money on something and then be disappointed by it? Not me! I personally love reading why products didn’t work for people, because sometimes, the reason why something didn’t work for someone could be the reason why it will work for me 🙂
Keep on reading to find out why these products did not work out </3
The first product I want to talk about is the Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo. I got this in one of my subscription boxes, (sorry I can’t remember which one), and I was so excited since I am always searching for the perfect dry shampoo. This was not it. I used it a few times to give it a fair chance but each time I felt that it didn’t do much for my hair. It didn’t absorb any oils and I was not a fan of the scent. It appears that you can get it on amazon for about $11 USD, but I’d much rather spend a little more and get the DryBar detox dry shampoo at sephora 😦
Next on my list are two mascaras; which I am so sad I disliked. I used each for about a month to give them a fair shot. The Maybelline Colossal VolumExpress mascara was very “wet” and went on easily. However it dried so bad, and would get crusty and just wouldn’t wash off with anything I used. I’ve had waterproof mascara that removed better than this. I know most of you would think that this is a good thing but when you wake up in the morning with raccoon eyes because you thought you got it all– you’ll know it’s not. Especially since it was also difficult to remove from my skin. ♦◊ The other mascara is the benefit Bad gal lash mascara. *sighs* I love benefit cosmetics; I mean that hoola bronzer? Their Porefessional primer, They’re Real mascara, and Gimme brow gel?! Amazing. This mascara was not. The bristles on the wand are just too close together, and the brush is just too big so it makes it hard to coat the lashes. The formula dries very very quickly and it is super flaky (at least for me). I was super sad because I just love this brand and this mascara was no bueno.
Ok, for this next one please do not come for me beauty lovers! This is an amazing product and works well– if you have normal to oily skin. I have dry skin and it tends to get 10 times worse in the winter. The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder emphasized the dryness in my skin. I will definitely continue to use this in the summer months since my skin isn’t as dry, and I refuse to completely give up on this. I just couldn’t stand how dry my face felt and looked every time I set my face with this during fall/winter months. My eczema/psoriasis flare ups would be very visible when I used this. For my beauties who also have dry skin out there, I would recommend the RCMA no color powder, which has worked well with my skin.
Lastly, I want to talk about the Colourpop Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks. The colors are beautiful and the pigmentation is amazing. However, these are the most drying matte liquid lipsticks I have ever used. I love the Colourpop glosses and satin lipsticks, they have an amazing formula and pigmentation so I recommend these to everyone, especially for the price. I personally shy away from super drying lip products because my lips are already dry as it is. I definitely had to use a lip scrub and hydrating balm after each use.
Please remember that these products didn’t work out for me personally, if they worked out for you, that is super great! We are all different and products will work differently on each of us.
I hope this is useful to you, until next post! ♥♦♥
